At MediCampus Europeo students have the opportunity to complement their academic journey through optional, non-curricular clinical exposure activities in collaboration with Saint James Hospital Group.
February 13, 2025

At MediCampus Europeo (MCE), Faculty of Medicine in Malta, students have the opportunity to complement their academic journey through optional, non-curricular clinical exposure activities in collaboration with Saint James Hospital Group.

This collaboration allows eligible students to gain early observational exposure to healthcare settings from Year 1, helping them connect theoretical learning with real-world medical practice.

Why Early Clinical Exposure Matters

The first years of a medical degree are dedicated to building a strong scientific foundation through subjects such as anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. At the same time, many students are eager to understand how this knowledge is applied in healthcare environments.

Early clinical exposure can help students:

  • understand the realities of medical practice;
  • observe professional healthcare environments;
  • appreciate the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork;
  • connect classroom learning with patient-centred care.

These experiences can provide valuable context while students continue to develop their academic knowledge.

MCE and Saint James Hospital Group

Saint James Hospital Group serves as a Clinical Exposure Site for optional, non-curricular student activities at MediCampus Europeo.

Through voluntary observational experiences, students may gain insight into real healthcare settings and develop a broader understanding of the medical profession.

The initiative is designed to complement academic learning and provide additional opportunities for professional growth and exploration.
