MediCampus Europeo (MCE), Faculty of Medicine in Malta, is pleased to announce that Professor Edvard I. Moser, PhD, recipient of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, will be the next distinguished guest of its Beyond the Prize Medical Lecture Series on 24 November 2026.

An internationally renowned Norwegian neuroscientist, Professor Moser is best known for his groundbreaking discovery of grid cells, specialised neurons that form a key part of the brain’s internal navigation system.

This discovery revolutionised our understanding of how the brain represents space, enabling us to navigate our surroundings and contributing to research into spatial cognition and memory.

Bringing Nobel Prize-Winning Research Closer to Medical Students

The upcoming lecture is part of Beyond the Prize, an academic initiative launched by MediCampus Europeo to connect its medical students and academic community with Nobel Prize laureates, leading scientists and internationally recognised clinicians.

By bringing pioneering researchers into direct dialogue with future doctors, MCE continues to promote an international learning environment where medical education meets scientific discovery.
